Next WIP has quickened

With a glimmer of inspiration this morning, a seed planted during yesterday’s hike to the bluff dweller’s site (see this post), an entire story line has entered the incubation phase. I’m excited already.

Now to finish up the current wip so I can get on to the next. I hope it’s not a bad thing that the subject is entirely different and that it won’t be a sequel to the current. Later there could be sequels, but this newly germinated idea will be ready to bring forth by the time I’m done with the current one, and I can already tell it won’t let me push it aside.

Been tagged…#amsneakingwriting at work

I was tagged by Barb.

For a “Tag” you answer 5 questions 5 times to share a bit about yourself. Not sure about answering it 5 times, but here goes my first time:

Question 1 – Where were you five years ago?

I was working my last few months for Honeywell Specialty Chemicals, anxiously awaiting the move from the flat-land swamps of Louisiana to the hills and hollers of Northwest Arkansas. The world ahead was wide open and full of opportunity. My dreams were on the cusp of fulfillment.

Question 2 – Where would you like to be in five years?

Free from day job and house mortgage. That’s where I’d like to be, but not where I’d expect. On a realistic plan, I’d like to at least have my first novel published. My blog with much better stats and a hundred comments on every post.  My magazine articles sell on every pitch, and I’d like my children to be self-sufficient or well on their way.

Question 3 – What is on your to-do list today?

I’m shopping for a used pick-up truck for my daughter and there’s a few of them on the list for me to look at today. Of course, there’s the usual day-job checklist. My first draft of the earthquake article needs to be finished tonight and a few hundred more words toward my wip would be nice, too.

Question 4 – What snacks do you enjoy?

I’m a sucker for junk cereal, especially Captain Crunchberry. But I don’t buy it often, so it’s not a regular snack. I do eat a Snickers bar almost every day. Other than that, I don’t snack much.

Question 5 – What five things would you do if you were a billionaire?

Pay off mine and my son’s mortgage, put up the kids’ (mine and my nephews) college tuitions, buy my neighbor’s land for her, put some toward research for CF in the hopes my first grandbaby will see the cure in her lifetime. One more. Jeez, can you believe I’m having a hard time coming up with something else? Oh! Quit the day job :)
