Two completely different activities are competing for my attention today. I wish I could clone myself on days like this.
One. The horses need more paddock so the fence needs to be expanded to cover more ground.
Two. My short story needs to be re-written so I can get it back to the editor.
These two things cannot get done at the same time by the same person, and although I’m trying to do both it’s not working out so good. While I’m at the desk writing the horses are sending guilt trips by horse-ESP. They want the paddock enlarged and since they can’t do it themselves, I’m obligated to pound the fence posts and string the wire.
While I’m physically sweating the small things, like walking up and down the hill carrying my supplies, I’m thinking of what I could be doing with my story. And so I take a break, a much needed *breathing* break with coffee addiction fueling the need. Sit down get a few paragraphs written until the horse-ESP breaks through again.
Hopefully by the end of this weekend I’ll have both tasks finished and the horses can lay off the guilt trip. I’ll let you know on Monday when I post my goal update. Tomorrow I may not be online if I give in to the guilt and spend the day outside on the fence.
