Ending the pitch angst!

This is it for now: http://madisonwoods.wordpress.com/published-and-wip/pitch-for-symbiosis/

Comments welcome, but I have to get to work with my dishes and laundry. It’s piled entirely too high while I wrangled this topic to death.

I’ll work on editing Symbiosis some more today. But I’m done with the pitch for now.

One question for you, though. After reading this pitch, does this story sound like Fantasy? Or science fiction? Or something else? That’ll be the next dragon to conquer. Figuring out my genre. To my mind it’s science fiction and fantasy.

Sunday Musings

Off and on all day yesterday I worked on my pitch. I’ve finally ironed out two. One short pitch and a slightly more expanded long pitch.

Here they are if you’d like to read them. Let me hear your feedback. Today I’ll be cleaning house, packing for my trip and not planning to go anywhere, so I’ll probably be editing between my chores.

I like having gotten closer to the heart of the story. There’s probably still work to be done before I’m totally satisfied with it, but these pitches are a lot better than my earlier ones.

Writerly Progress

So far this year I have one story submitted, one photo essay submitted, and one photo essay queried. Carried over from last year there is still one story submitted.

I’m 34 pages into my rewrite and edit of Symbiosis.

After today I’ll be scarce for a few weeks. I’ll be back to the regularly scheduled programming on January 25. I have a bunch of things pre-loaded to post several times a week, not quite daily.

It might not matter, but it took so long to get any search engine ranking at all, I don’t want to take a chance that it’ll slip past the first page with a few weeks of no posts.
