Writerly Goals update

Last week’s recap

It feels like this week and the weekend flew by. I can’t believe it’s Monday again and I’m checking in with my goals already. Last week felt very productive but I can’t remember a thing I did. Hate it when that happens, which is why I have to write everything down. Since I took my calendar off the side-bar, it’s not easy to look.

I know I’d added a schedule to the side-bar. It shows that Thursdays will be my regular scheduled day for guests, but this week I’ll have two guests.  Dr. Harrison Solow, will appear on Tuesday. That’s because her topic (Liminality) will be of interest to science fiction and fantasy readers (and writers). Thursday’s guest will be Odin1Eye, the reviewer from The View from Valhalla.

On Thursdays when I have no guest, I might either not post at all that day or post whatever I feel like posting.

To get my manuscript finished by my self-imposed deadline of 190 days from now, I’ll need to edit 1.5 pages each day. I’m still on track with that, but would like to do more than I need on days when I have extra time (Did I just say that? There is no such thing as extra time these days.) Today I got several done, but that was to catch up from days I missed in the last few weeks.

Oh! I just remembered one of the things I did last week. I wrote and submitted a non-fiction article. I need to add that one to my list of subbed work.

This week’s goals:

  • Add calendar back to side-bar
  • continue editing Symbiosis
  • Find and photograph a subject for this week’s Friday Fictioneers
  • Write a story for that photo
  • Take a peek at what’s involved in producing Kindle documents
  • Recruit a guest for next week
  • Write part 2 of my writerly business plan

This year’s goals:

  • Finish editing Symbiosis
  • Prepare the 100-word flash stories I already have written into a Kindle collection.
