Another review of the Cthulhurotica anthology, and a mention of my story too

If you were curious what my story was about… Just found this summary at:

RISE REVIEWS  written by HARRY MARKOV  FEBRUARY 14, 2011

http://risereviews.com/2011/02/14/cthulhurotica/

“Milleu from the story “Daddy’s Girl” by Madison Woods has inhuman heritage and trains tentacled creatures to perform sexual services.”

It’s a great review of the anthology edited by Carrie Cuinn. She’s doing another one next year and I’m sure it’ll be just as interesting. I’m excited to have been invited to contribute again, so I hope I can come up with another story she likes.

First time for everything

Entirely by chance, while Googling ‘Madison Woods’ to see what would turn up, I stumbled upon a review at Rise Reviews where my name was mentioned in connection to my short story included in the Cthulhurotica anthology. (How did my Google Alerts fail to tell me about this yesterday?)

The discovery was exciting, to say the least.

My copy of the book came in the other day and it was an awesome thing to see my story in print there alongside all the other excellent stories in the collection. See, it was less the fact that I was (finally!) published and more the company which my story keeps that gave me such pleasure.

Don’t let the ‘Erotica’ word scare you. This is not ordinary storytelling at Cthulhurotica.

Forever twisted

Finally, I downloaded my copy of Cthulhurotica.

My intention is to just read straight through, not skip around and so far I’ve read the introduction by Carrie Cuinn, our editor and concept Goddess. Then I read the poem by Lovecraft (which I liked) and moved onto the first story.

Because of time limitations this morning I was only able to read about half of it. Half of the first story, I mean. The book is over 300 pages.

Suffice it to say … my mind will never be the same again. Oh. My. God.

Right now, before another second ticks off the clock, you should order a copy of this book. There can’t be anything else like it in the entire Universe.

The Back Cover … (via Cthulhurotica)

Last night I received a contributer’s .pdf version of the new Cthulhurotica anthology, but I’d forgotten my flash drive at work and my Dell Mini didn’t have enough room left on the hard drive to download it.

So today I’ll get a chance to take a peek, and I’ll let you know what I think about it. I’m excited, can’t wait to read all of these stories – they all sound so intriguing and strange.

Have you seen the author interviews? If you go to the website, there’s a list of contributors. The live links bring you to the interviews. All of them are interesting and you should read them! Mine is there, too ;)

Oh yes,  pre-orders are being taken now!

I’m just a little amused that my first qualifying sale for any membership would be for the horror genre.

My goal is to become a member of Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA), and I think affiliate membership to HWA is a good place to start.

Check out the new #Cthulhurotica website

Here’s a link to the website. And while you’re there, check out the list of contributing writers for the first anthology.

Yes, if you scroll all the way down to the last name on the list, you’ll see mine! I’m thrilled.

Just had to make a short post to shout-out a little bit about it :)
